Rhona Kaplan LCSW-R

I am a trained psychotherapist/psychoanalyst and clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience. Psychotherapy/analysis provides an opportunity to address life stressors and problems through weekly 45-60 minute sessions that involves talking, listening, and constructive feedback. People seek treatment for a number of reasons including but not limited to: understanding difficulty in relationships, symptoms of anxiety and depression, and career dissatisfaction.  Many people with whom I work are accomplished, intelligent and function well day-to-day but seek a better understanding to their problems of living and their relational patterns. Through careful listening and inquiry, I help my patients develop deeper awareness and clarity. In the process of cultivating curiosity, you will gain insight that promotes personal growth and a sense of well-being. I approach treatment with a non-judgmental and open style. I encourage and welcome my patients to speak freely and openly about any and all thoughts and feelings that arise both inside and outside of sessions.  Working collaboratively means that I will pay close attention to the here and now of your experience in therapy to foster continued self-learning and growth. Whether you are seeking psychotherapy/psychoanalysis for yourself, your adolescent, or with a partner, I am committed to working closely with you to provide a productive and transformative experience.

My work is not only limited to direct practice with patients. I enjoy teaching, supervising, and consulting both in my private practice as well as within organizations and educational institutions. My practice includes supervision of early career professionals including those in post graduate and post-doctorate training. I also supervise experienced mental health practitioners from multiple disciplines: clinical social workers, clinical psychologists, licensed mental health counselors, and psychiatrists.
